Senior Finance Officer

About the role

VillageReach is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to support the management of its product and service supply in Kinshasa. The role will ensure sound financial systems, strong internal controls, and efficient payment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and timely transaction entry in Sage.
• Process supplier and staff payments with proper documentation.
• Support program teams with financial data for budgeting and expenditure analysis.
• Participate in budget preparation and new proposal development.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and staff advance account tracking.
• Generate monthly financial reports and conduct year‑end processes.
• Identify financial risks, implement mitigation strategies, and coordinate internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant finance experience.
• Membership in a professional accounting body is desired.
• Experience working in international or low‑income country contexts is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sage accounting system or similar software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
