Accounting & Payroll Assistant – Democratic Republic of Congo

About the role

Ria Money Transfer is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Assistant to support its operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role combines daily bookkeeping, payroll processing, tax compliance and general office administration, ensuring accurate financial records and timely employee payments.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, manage petty cash, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Prepare travel expense reports, employee reimbursements and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Update fixed‑asset registers and assist with depreciation schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Assist month‑end and year‑end closing, and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Collect payroll data, calculate monthly payroll in line with DRC labour law and submit social security and tax declarations (INSS, INPP, ONEM, IPR, etc.).
• Maintain employee records, contracts, leave balances and prepare HR administrative letters.
• Prepare and file statutory tax returns (VAT, withholding, corporate advance taxes) and liaise with local authorities.
• Manage office supplies, procurement processes and coordinate meeting and travel logistics.

Required profile

• Strong accounting background with experience in bookkeeping and payroll.
• Good knowledge of DRC fiscal, social and labour regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple compliance deadlines.
