Accounting & Payroll Assistant – DRC Operations

About the role

Ria Money Transfer is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Assistant to support its operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role combines core accounting duties with payroll processing, tax compliance, and general office administration in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, manage petty cash, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Prepare travel expense reports, employee reimbursements, and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Update fixed‑asset registers and assist with depreciation schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Assist month‑end and year‑end closing processes and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Collect payroll data, calculate monthly payroll in line with DRC labor law, and submit social security and tax declarations (INSS, INPP, ONEM, IPR).
• Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR administrative files; respond to payroll‑related employee inquiries.
• Prepare and file statutory tax returns (VAT, withholding, corporate advance taxes) and liaise with local authorities.
• Manage office supplies, procurement, supplier onboarding, and invoice tracking.

Required profile

• Strong accounting background with experience in book‑entry and financial reporting.
• Solid understanding of DRC labor, tax, and social security regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential payroll information.
