Accounts Officer

About the role

The client is seeking an Accounts Officer to join its team in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records while supporting budgets and payroll. The position is expatriate and requires the ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, processing supplier invoices and payments accurately and on time.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and following up on outstanding balances.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records.
• Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
• Assist with payroll processing.
• Carry out general bookkeeping and accounting functions.

Required profile

• Willingness to relocate to Lubumbashi, DRC.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Previous experience working in Africa or an expatriate environment is advantageous.
• Foreign‑currency accounting experience is a plus.
• French language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Pastel/Sage or similar accounting software.
