Accounts Officer – Lubumbashi, DRC

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Officer to join our Finance & Accounts team in Lubumbashi, DRC. The successful candidate will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain petty‑cash fund with proper documentation and controls.
• Record accurate entries in the general ledger in line with accounting standards.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, management accounts and other reports.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, controls and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for invoice verification and payment.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Maintain organized financial records and provide schedules for audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands‑on experience with accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, petty‑cash management and general ledger.
• Professional certifications (ACCA, CMA, CPA) are a plus.
• Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines and adapt to a cross‑cultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting/ERP software.
