Administrative Officer – UNICEF Ebola Response (6‑month contract)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Administrative Officer to support its emergency Ebola response in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role is a six‑month fixed‑term position that provides day‑to‑day administrative services to ensure the response team can operate efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and maintaining UNICEF’s operational presence in Bunia, including office space, equipment, communications, utilities and accommodation.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF administrative rules, internal controls and emergency‑specific procedures.
• Coordinate administrative support for deployment, onboarding, movement, rotation, travel and accommodation of staff, consultants, surge personnel and visitors.
• Process administrative requests related to IPC, WASH, health, community engagement, meetings, field missions and transport.
• Support budget monitoring for administrative and operational costs.

Required profile

• Under the supervision of the Administration and Finance Specialist, provide timely and compliant administrative services.
• Demonstrate adaptability to a complex emergency environment and cultural sensitivity to local contexts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑sectoral teams and external partners.
