Applied AI Engineer

About the role

VectorOne is looking for an Applied AI Engineer to help build a next‑generation rules engine that provides automated reasoning for explainable AI in high‑trust, finance‑focused environments. You will work closely with senior AI engineers to design and implement core system components, and you will get hands‑on experience with model training, evaluation and distillation for production‑grade AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a novel rules engine that enables automated reasoning and explainability for AI models.
• Collaborate with senior AI engineers to create core system components under tight timelines.
• Perform model training, evaluation, and distillation to support production AI systems.
• Translate research ideas into production‑ready code and integrate foundational technologies.
• Iterate on the roadmap as new challenges and opportunities arise.
