Assessment Officer – Cash & Markets (DRC)

About the role

The REACH Initiative is seeking an Assessment Officer to lead cash and market monitoring activities for the DRC Cash Working Group. Based in Goma, the officer will support humanitarian planning by delivering timely assessments and analysis of cash assistance programmes and market conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct cash assistance and market assessments across Kinshasa, Goma, Bukavu and Kalemie.
• Provide regular situation monitoring reports for the Cash Working Group and partner agencies.
• Collect, manage and analyse primary data on household needs, market prices and supply chains.
• Produce GIS‑based maps and visualisations to support decision‑making.
• Collaborate with REACH teams, ACTED and other humanitarian actors to ensure data quality and relevance.
• Travel to field sites as required to supervise data collection and validation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cash‑based assistance or market monitoring in humanitarian contexts.
• Familiarity with the DRC operating environment and ability to work in insecure settings.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to produce clear, actionable reports.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
