Associate Business Development Manager – Lubumbashi

About the role

The Associate Business Development Manager will support BIC World’s growth in Lubumbashi and surrounding towns by developing distributor relationships, optimizing routes to market and ensuring strong execution of sales and marketing plans.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the RTM (route‑to‑market) strategy with local distributors.
• Analyse distribution networks, channel mix and product portfolio to ensure optimal SKU coverage per outlet.
• Deliver SFA metrics such as coverage, strike rate and basket size, and produce accurate secondary sales reports.
• Train and support the local sales team on product knowledge and field visits.
• Manage sales forecasts using a 3+3 order processing model (3 months firm orders, 3 months forecast).
• Lead distributor relationships, negotiate key accounts and follow up on agreed marketing actions.
• Oversee accounts receivable, credit notes and trade expense reimbursements.
• Conduct regular field visits to gather market intelligence, monitor pricing, launch new products and report anti‑counterfeiting activities.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in sales management or business development within FMCG or consumer goods in the Congo.
• Proven ability to manage distributor networks and achieve sales targets.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in market data reporting and forecasting.
