Associate Manager Business Development

About the role

BIC World is seeking an Associate Manager Business Development to lead and grow its distribution network in Kinshasa. The role focuses on implementing route‑to‑market strategies, optimizing product mix, and driving sales performance across local distributors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the RTM strategy for local distributors, including network analysis and route planning.
• Deliver SFA metrics such as coverage, strike rate, and basket size per outlet.
• Collaborate with Business Analyst and SFA support to produce accurate secondary sales reports.
• Train and support local sales teams on product knowledge and field visits.
• Ensure forecast accuracy through a 3+3 order processing system (3 months firmed orders, 3 months forecast).
• Manage key distributor relationships and follow up on agreed marketing plans with BIC West and Central Africa Marketing.
• Oversee account receivable collection, credit note management, and trade expense reimbursement.
• Identify growth opportunities in distribution channels, product mix penetration, and shelf‑space optimization.
• Conduct regular field visits to gather market intelligence, competitive pricing, new product launch feedback, and anti‑counterfeiting reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in sales management or business development within FMCG or consumer goods in the Democratic Republic of Congo, preferably Kinshasa.
• Proven ability to manage distributor relationships and achieve sales targets.
• Strong analytical skills for market and route‑to‑market analysis.
• Experience with sales forecasting and order processing.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
