Business & Project Development Manager – Kinshasa

About the role

Acted is seeking a Business & Project Development Manager to lead and expand its humanitarian and climate‑focused programmes in Kinshasa, DRC. The role will combine business development, project design and partnership management to increase the reach and impact of interventions across multiple provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new funding opportunities with bilateral donors, NGOs and private sector partners.
• Design, plan and oversee multi‑sectoral projects covering food assistance, shelter, WASH, education and livelihood resilience.
• Coordinate with operational teams in South Kivu, North Kivu, Tanganyika, North Ubangi and South Ubangi to ensure alignment with Acted’s strategic objectives.
• Lead the Rapid Response Mechanism in South Kivu, ensuring swift response to displacement and sudden shocks.
• Provide capacity‑building support to local civil‑society organisations and monitor project performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian or development project management, preferably in the Great Lakes region.
• Strong understanding of climate and environmental considerations in programme design.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to spot opportunities, adapt approaches and take measured risks.
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills.
