Cashier / Caissier – Point of Sale Specialist

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for managing the point‑of‑sale register, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of all financial transactions. This role requires strict adherence to internal controls, accurate record‑keeping, and a professional attitude toward customers.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers courteously and process payments (cash, card, or other methods).
• Accurately record each transaction and verify the amounts collected and change given.
• Perform daily cash register closings and maintain up‑to‑date cash balances.
• Manage authorized disbursements in line with internal procedures.
• Verify, retain, and file supporting documents such as invoices, vouchers, and receipts.
• Report any cash discrepancies or variances to management promptly.
• Comply with security, confidentiality, and internal control policies.
• Maintain an organized and secure workstation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Bac+2/3) or equivalent in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in cash handling or retail finance.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• High ethical standards and integrity.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, dashboards).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
