Chief Mine Planning Superintendent

About the role

The Chief Mine Planning Superintendent will lead mine planning activities across multiple copper operations, ensuring safe, efficient and sustainable extraction of mineral resources. This senior position reports to senior management and works closely with engineering and operational teams to set strategic direction.

Key responsibilities

• Own the development and optimisation of short‑ and long‑term mine plans for several sites.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of mine planners and engineers.
• Collaborate with operations, geology and processing to align plans with production targets.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best‑practice planning methodologies.
• Support strategic business decisions through scenario analysis and risk assessment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in mine planning, preferably in copper mining.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Deswik mine‑planning software.
• Deep expertise in mine planning concepts and practices.
