Cold Chain Logistic Specialist (Vaccine Management) – 6‑month consultancy

About the role

The Vaccine Management and Cold Chain Logistics Specialist (VMCCL) will coordinate and implement vaccine management and cold‑chain activities across selected provinces in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This six‑month consultancy is office‑based with regular travel to health regions and districts to support routine immunisation, supplemental immunisation activities and outbreak response.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective coordination of vaccine stock management, forecasting, and timely distribution.
• Maintain cold‑chain equipment functionality through preventive maintenance and rapid repair.
• Monitor temperature continuously, manage excursions and document corrective actions.
• Improve data quality, reporting performance and waste management during campaigns.
• Build capacity of provincial EPI teams through training, coaching and supportive supervision.
• Track performance indicators such as stock‑out days, wastage rates, forecast accuracy and delivery performance.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 60 months (5 years) of experience in vaccine logistics or cold‑chain management.
• Demonstrated experience in routine immunisation, supplemental campaigns or outbreak response.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Immunisation Supply Chain Manager.
