Communication Officer (Multimedia) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is recruiting a Communication Officer (Multimedia) on a six‑month temporary appointment to support the Ebola Virus Disease response in Bunia, Ituri province, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role focuses on producing timely, high‑quality communication materials that inform communities, counter misinformation, and promote life‑saving behaviours.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate multimedia content (photos, videos, graphics) for external audiences.
• Engage with local and international media to ensure accurate coverage of the response.
• Produce real‑time communication products for risk communication and community engagement.
• Support coordination of communication activities across UNICEF and partner agencies.
• Monitor public sentiment and adapt messages to cultural contexts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communication within humanitarian or health emergency settings.
• Ability to work in insecure, fast‑changing environments.
• Strong cultural sensitivity and ability to engage diverse community groups.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
