Compliance Coordinator – Humanitarian Programs

About the role

The Compliance Coordinator will support the Country Director and senior management in overseeing ethics and compliance across the IRC programme in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role focuses on fostering an ethical work environment, delivering proactive prevention initiatives, and ensuring timely review of alleged misconduct in line with IRC policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a culture of integrity by raising awareness of the IRC Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Provide prompt examination of suspected violations and coordinate investigations with the ECU investigation team.
• Ensure programme activities comply with local laws, IRC policies, and donor contractual obligations.
• Offer guidance and support to staff, temporary agents, and volunteers on compliance matters.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance incidents and follow‑up actions.
• Collaborate with partners and implementing agencies to align their practices with IRC compliance standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in compliance, ethics, or related functions, preferably within the humanitarian sector.
• Strong understanding of local legal frameworks and donor regulations.
• Excellent analytical and investigative abilities.
• Ability to work independently and support senior leadership.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IRC policies, donor compliance guidelines, and local legislation.
• Experience conducting compliance reviews and investigations.
• Proficiency in documenting and reporting compliance findings.
