Contracts Specialist (P-3) – Temporary Assignment in Bunia, DRC

About the role

The Contracts Specialist will lead the contracting and service procurement function for the Bunian field office supporting the Ebola emergency response. Reporting to the Chief of Field Office and the Chief of Supply and Logistics, the role ensures that all procurement activities are carried out with integrity, transparency and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement contracting and sourcing strategies, including tendering, negotiation, award and administration of contracts.
• Establish and manage Long‑Term Agreements and institutional contracts, and monitor supplier performance.
• Ensure full compliance with UNICEF rules, regulations and procurement policies.
• Supervise and mentor contracting and supply staff, fostering professional development.
• Provide technical advice to programme teams, government counterparts and implementing partners on service contracting and supply‑chain management.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant professional experience at national and international level in supply, logistics, procurement or contracting.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of an additional UN language is desirable.
