Country Director – Democratic Republic of Congo

About the role

VillageReach is seeking a dynamic Country Director to lead its operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Programs, you will be the primary representative of the organization, driving strategic, programmatic, operational and administrative excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the DRC country strategy and annual operating plans, ensuring alignment with global priorities.
• Oversee program delivery, including work‑plan execution, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation.
• Manage country finances, resources and compliance, ensuring sound fiscal stewardship and risk management.
• Lead business development efforts, drafting concept notes, proposals and budgets in collaboration with global teams.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with government officials, donors, implementing partners and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure security, safety and risk procedures protect staff, visitors and assets.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in the health or development sector, preferably in low‑resource settings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, multi‑disciplinary teams and complex budgets.
• Strong track record in partnership development, donor engagement and business development.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
