Country Finance Assistant

About the role

The Country Finance Assistant will support CTG’s financial operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, payroll, and cash transactions while maintaining compliance with local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, ensure proper documentation, and track payments.
• Generate and reconcile client invoices, record them in Sage, and support timely client payments.
• Assist with payroll for consultants and staff, prepare remittance schedules, and issue payslips.
• Calculate and process PIT, social security, and other local taxes; ensure timely tax filings and support audits.
• Manage cash transactions, prepare bank reconciliations, and assist with bank account oversight.
• Support data collection for budgets, forecasts, and monthly variance analysis.
• Prepare summary financial reports, assist with audits, and maintain accurate data entry in financial systems.
• Propose process improvements and maintain financial documentation for other departments.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with payroll processing, invoice management, and accounts payable/receivable, preferably in an international context.
• Fluent English and legal authorization to work in the DRC without visa sponsorship.
• Strong attention to detail, ethical handling of confidential information, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Required skills

• Experience with Sage or QuickBooks financial management software.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with local tax compliance and basic financial reporting.
