Country Financial Controller

About the role

Concern Worldwide is seeking a Country Financial Controller for a 24‑month replacement contract in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role can be based in Kinshasa (accompanied) or Goma (unaccompanied) and involves regular travel (approximately 30%) to programme areas in North Kivu and Tanganyika.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the country finance function, ensuring robust internal controls, accurate ledger and cashbook management, and compliance with Concern Worldwide financial guidelines.
• Oversee treasury, budgeting, financial planning and grant reporting for all programmes.
• Manage and develop the finance team, including a Deputy Finance Controller and two Programme Accountants.
• Coordinate with senior management, HR, logistics, Dublin and regional finance teams, local banks, auditors, partners and donor finance staff.
• Provide partner finance oversight and deliver staff training on financial procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance management within an international or humanitarian organisation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a finance team and ensure compliance with donor and organisational requirements.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience in grant management and treasury functions.
