Custodian – Facilities Maintenance

About the role

The Church of Jesus Christ is looking for a Custodian to help maintain its facilities in Mbuji‑Mayi. This part‑time position ensures that worship, teaching and community spaces are clean, safe and present a dignified image for members and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all assigned areas to established standards, including floors, carpets, and furnishings.
• Remove and replace draperies, chandeliers, lights and set up meeting rooms as requested.
• Operate custodial equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners and vacuums.
• Handle cleaning agents and chemicals using appropriate safety gear.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, push carts, bend, crawl and reach as needed.
• Good English comprehension for verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to complete safety and equipment‑usage training.
• Positive attitude toward public interaction and teamwork.
