Data Engineer – Mining Operations (Kolwezi Site)

About the role

The Data Engineer will design, build and maintain data pipelines that support mining operations at the Kolwezi site. The role enables data‑driven decision‑making, operational efficiency and real‑time insights across production, maintenance and finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for mining, production and operational data.
• Integrate data from fleet management, SCADA, ERP, IoT sensors and laboratory systems.
• Build and manage data warehouses and data lakes for structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure data quality, integrity and consistency across all sources.
• Develop and optimise both real‑time and batch processing workflows.
• Collaborate with operations, geology, maintenance and finance teams to understand data needs.
• Support analytics, dashboards and reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Implement data governance, security and access controls.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues and document architecture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in data engineering or data systems.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing or other industrial environments is preferred.
• Ability to work on a remote site with limited connectivity.
