Data Engineer – Mining Operations (Kolwezi Site)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain data pipelines that support mining operations at our Kolwezi site, enabling data‑driven decisions and real‑time insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for mining, production, and operational data.
• Integrate data from fleet management systems, SCADA, ERP, IoT sensors, and lab systems.
• Build and manage data warehouses and data lakes for structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems.
• Develop and optimise real‑time and batch processing workflows.
• Collaborate with operations, geology, maintenance, and finance teams to understand data needs.
• Support analytics, dashboards and reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Implement data governance, security and access controls.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Document data architecture, workflows and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in data engineering or data systems.
• Experience with data pipelines in industrial or mining environments is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is advantageous.
• Certifications in cloud or data platforms are a plus.
