Director, DRC INGO Forum Secretariat

About the role

Cordaid is seeking a senior leader to head the Secretariat of the DRC INGO Forum, a platform that brings together 120 international NGOs operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Director will provide strategic direction, operational oversight and advocacy support to strengthen coordination among INGOs and with national and international stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HR functions for the seven‑person Secretariat, including recruitment, performance management and capacity building.
• Oversee financial management, budget preparation, grant reporting and donor relations in collaboration with the host agency.
• Manage membership processes: registration, outreach, fee collection and induction of new members.
• Coordinate the Forum’s governance, including steering‑committee elections, strategy development and liaison with the Executive Committee.
• Facilitate monthly Heads of Mission meetings, provincial platform coordination and ensure effective information sharing among members.
• Represent the Forum as the primary point of contact for government, UN agencies and other partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a multi‑disciplinary secretariat or similar coordination unit in a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with ability to coach and motivate staff.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial and grant management, including budgeting and donor reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities, especially with NGOs, government and UN bodies.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
