Ebola Response Coordinator – Operations Specialist

About the role

The Ebola Response Coordinator (ERC) Operations Specialist provides technical support at International Headquarters and field leadership for the ongoing Ebola outbreak in Ituri Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role alternates between supporting the Samaritans Purse Incident Management Team and on‑site oversight of two Ebola Treatment Centers, the IPC training programme, and related response functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) operations, overseeing day‑to‑day activities of two Ebola Treatment Centers.
• Coordinate handovers for staff rotations, ensuring protocol adherence and peer review.
• Maintain relationships with the Incident Management (COUSP), Ministry of Health, WHO and other partners.
• Provide technical guidance to field leadership as a liaison between the field and IHQ.
• Support grant award implementation, data collection and reporting to USDOS.
• Manage clinical case workflows, including admission, monitoring, treatment adjustments, discharge planning and safe burial coordination.
• Oversee patient data quality and integration into the DHIS2 platform.
• Continuously improve operational processes based on evolving WHO and Ministry of Health guidance.

Required profile

• Active personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ability to serve as a consistent witness.
• Proven experience in humanitarian health emergency response, preferably Ebola or other viral haemorrhagic fevers.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills in multi‑partner environments.
• Ability to work in challenging field conditions and rotate between headquarters and field sites.
