Emergency Specialist (Access), P-3, 6‑month TA

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Emergency Access Specialist (P‑3) on a six‑month temporary assignment to support the Ebola response in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role reports to the Chief of Emergency and will coordinate data collection, reporting and response activities to ensure an effective, evidence‑based humanitarian response for children and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead humanitarian access negotiations with authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate community engagement and acceptance of Ebola response measures.
• Monitor access points, manage information flow and produce timely reports.
• Provide coordination and operational support to the country office and partners.
• Strengthen capacity of local teams and manage knowledge‑sharing processes.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or related field.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in programme or project development at national or international level, preferably in humanitarian or health emergencies.
