Emergency Specialist (P-3) – Temporary Appointment, Kinshasa

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Emergency Specialist (P-3) on a temporary appointment to support the Ebola Virus Disease response in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working under the supervision of a senior manager, you will help design, implement and monitor emergency interventions that protect children, mothers and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate emergency interventions in the Ebola response.
• Provide inter‑agency coordination, humanitarian leadership and liaison with OCHA.
• Support coordination mechanisms for the multi‑sectoral Ebola response, including community engagement, surveillance and infection‑prevention activities.
• Ensure continuity of essential services for affected populations.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or related fields.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional experience in emergency response, humanitarian coordination or related sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex, insecure environments and to adapt to evolving situations.
