Entry-Level Accountant for Church Finance (Kinshasa)

About the role

This entry‑level accounting position supports the financial stewardship of a global church organization in Kinshasa. The incumbent will apply accounting principles to maintain accurate records, safeguard donated funds, and assist senior ecclesiastical leaders with financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, adjustments, and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform account reconciliations, clear outstanding items, and review expenditures against budget.
• Assist in preparing financial estimates, expense reports, and basic financial statements.
• Audit project accounts for policy compliance and communicate status to relevant parties.
• Support priesthood leaders and junior accountants through training and guidance.

Required profile

• Current temple recommend holder.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management (financial accounting focus).
• 4–6 years of professional accounting experience.
• Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CISA).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control standards.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
• Experience using computerized accounting systems.
• Familiarity with Oracle or Peoplesoft (preferred).
