Field Security Coordinator

About the role

World Vision, with 75 years of experience, focuses on helping vulnerable children in dangerous places. The Field Security Coordinator will oversee security reporting, capacity building, planning, operations, and external liaison for the Goma zone.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regular security reports to the Zonal Office in Goma, the National Office in Kinshasa, and the Southern Africa Region Office in Johannesburg.
• Ensure all security incidents are reported in line with World Vision security policy and conduct investigations when required.
• Coordinate capacity‑building plans for security management based on local risk assessments and promote a culture of security awareness.
• Oversee security risk assessments, country risk ratings, and implementation of core security requirements.
• Support crisis management, provide input during critical incidents, and assist the Field Security Coordinator and Security Manager Associate.
• Represent World Vision at local NGO security network meetings and disseminate relevant information to staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in context analysis, law enforcement or corporate security, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams working 24/7 rotations.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, especially in pressured environments.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in French; additional languages are an asset.
• Ability to work independently, handle confidential information with discretion, and maintain professionalism.
