Finance Officer (P)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Finance Officer to support the Kinshasa Country Office. Reporting to the Resources Management Officer (RMO) or Senior Resources Management Officer (SRMO) and working closely with the Regional Office in Kinshasa and Headquarters, the incumbent will help ensure sound financial management of all programme activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the RMO/SRMO in monitoring and overseeing financial management for all activities in the Country Office.
• Coordinate budget preparation, revisions, and execution in line with IOM financial rules.
• Track expenditures, ensure proper coding, and verify that costs are allowable and documented.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with the Regional Office (Kinshasa) and the Department of Financial and Administrative Management at Headquarters for guidance and compliance.
• Support internal and external audits, providing required documentation and explanations.
• Maintain accurate financial records in the Global Shared Services Centre system.

Required profile

• Eligibility as a first‑tier or second‑tier candidate according to IOM’s recruitment policy.
• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Experience in financial management within an international or governmental context is preferred.
