Finance Officer (Professional)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Finance Officer (Professional) to support the financial and budgetary operations of its Country Office in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Resources Management Officer and working closely with the Chief of Mission, the Regional Office, and Headquarters, the incumbent will ensure sound financial management in line with IOM policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of the Country Office budget.
• Coordinate financial transactions, including payments, reimbursements, and cash management.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with IOM financial regulations.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with the Global Shared Services Centre in Manila and other IOM units to resolve financial issues.
• Support audits and financial reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Professional experience in financial management, preferably within an international organization or UN agency.
• Knowledge of UN financial rules and donor regulations.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
