Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will support financial decision‑making by collecting, analysing, reconciling and reporting financial data. This role works closely with various stakeholders, including the South African business unit, to ensure compliance and accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly standard journals and support South African operations with local compliance, cash‑flow management and monthly reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) reporting and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Analyse variances, prepare monthly statements, forecasts and budgets, and respond to financial inquiries.
• Verify supporting documentation, manage inter‑company transactions, and handle interface exceptions.
• Support payroll reconciliations, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and internal/external audits.
• Assist business units with finance‑related queries and manage BEE compliance audits.
• Participate in health, safety, environmental and quality (SHEQ) initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably with African entities.
• Strong analytical, reconciling and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team‑player mindset with the ability to work across functions.
