General Manager – Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The General Manager HME Maintenance will lead the asset management and reliability strategy for heavy mobile equipment supporting copper and cobalt mining operations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent ensures that maintenance practices, engineering standards and risk controls deliver sustainable performance, safety and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Define, govern and continuously improve the company’s asset management framework, maintenance management systems and engineering standards.
• Establish equipment reliability policies, conduct critical risk assessments and implement technical standards to boost availability and safety.
• Develop short‑, medium‑ and long‑term maintenance plans aligned with the Life‑of‑Mine strategy and production targets.
• Plan and coordinate major shutdowns, overhauls and other large‑scale maintenance activities with Operations, Engineering, Health & Safety and external partners.
• Oversee preventive, statutory and condition‑based maintenance programmes, managing critical controls to mitigate major failure risks.
• Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets for maintenance, monitor financial performance and identify optimisation opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in heavy equipment maintenance or asset management within a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering, risk management and life‑cycle cost optimisation.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, safety and procurement teams.
• Excellent analytical, decision‑making and communication skills.
