Head of Human Resources – DRC Operations

About the role

The Head of Human Resources will define and drive the people agenda for Spiro’s operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to senior country leadership, this role will build a high‑performing HR function, support rapid workforce growth, and create an engaging, compliant, and performance‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business plans into an integrated country people strategy and workforce plan.
• Lead talent acquisition and onboarding for leadership, specialist, corporate, and operational roles.
• Establish HR policies, governance, employee records and core processes aligned with local requirements and group standards.
• Advise country leadership on organization design, capability needs, succession planning and productivity.
• Own performance management, objective setting, talent reviews, learning priorities and leadership development.
• Manage employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances and ensure labor‑law compliance.
• Guide compensation, benefits and reward practices to support internal equity and market competitiveness.
• Build a credible HR team and foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, safety and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• 10‑15 years of broad HR experience, including senior HR leadership.
• Proven experience building HR operations in fast‑growing or developing organisations.
• Strong capabilities in talent acquisition, employee relations, organisational development and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of the DRC labour environment or experience in African markets is highly advantageous.
• Fluent French preferred; business‑level English advantageous.
• Strategic perspective with a bias for execution, high integrity and comfort in an evolving environment.
• Collaborative leadership style with clear communication and sound judgement.
