Head of Programme

About the role

The Head of Programme will lead Geneva Call’s country‑level programmes, ensuring they are adequately financed, strategically communicated and compliant with donor and internal requirements. This senior position oversees budgeting, fundraising, partnership development and stakeholder engagement to maximise the organisation’s humanitarian impact.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and adapt the programme budget, adjusting HR set‑up according to available funds.
• Ensure all projects receive sufficient financing and track expenditures against financial plans.
• Contribute to public communication efforts, raising awareness of Geneva Call’s work and influence.
• Develop and maintain durable partnerships with local organisations, donors, diplomats and international bodies.
• Analyse donor strategies, identify multi‑year funding opportunities and prepare concept notes and proposals.
• Conduct stakeholder analysis, create engagement plans and work with implementing partners.
• Manage grants, ensuring compliance with internal and donor procedures and delivering high‑quality narrative reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in programme management within an international NGO or humanitarian context.
• Strong background in budgeting, financial monitoring and grant management.
• Demonstrated ability to secure funding and build strategic partnerships.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to work with diverse stakeholders, including armed groups and authorities.
• Commitment to Geneva Call’s neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian mandate.
