Health Specialist (Fixed‑Term) – Kananga, DRC

About the role

The Health Specialist will support the development, implementation and monitoring of health programmes in Kananga, focusing on sectors such as gender, maternal, neonatal and child survival. Reporting to the Chief Field Office, the role ensures results‑based management and alignment with UNICEF strategic plans.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development, planning and sector‑specific implementation.
• Manage programme delivery, monitoring progress and reporting results.
• Provide technical and operational guidance throughout the programme cycle.
• Build networks and partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and donors.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, epidemiology or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in public health planning, maternal‑neonatal care or health emergency preparedness.
• Fluency in French is required.
• Experience working in developing or humanitarian contexts is an asset.
