Health Specialist (Fixed‑Term) – Kananga, DRC

About the role

The Health Specialist will support the development, implementation and monitoring of health programmes in Kananga, focusing on areas such as gender, maternal, neonatal and child survival. Reporting to the Chief Field Office, the role provides technical guidance and ensures results‑based management throughout the programme cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development, planning and sector‑specific implementation.
• Manage, monitor and report on programme progress, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s strategic plans and results‑based management approaches.
• Provide technical and operational support to health initiatives, including data analysis and evaluation.
• Build partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other health‑sector stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, pediatric health, health policy, epidemiology or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in public health planning, maternal and neonatal health, or health emergency preparedness.
• Fluency in French is required; knowledge of another UN language is a plus.
