HR Services Specialist – Employee Separation Audit

About the role

The HR Services Specialist will lead a comprehensive audit of all employee separations performed over the past ten years. This role ensures compliance with labor legislation, company policies, and contractual obligations while identifying gaps and potential legal or financial risks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a detailed review of all separation cases (resignations, dismissals, retirements, etc.) from the last decade.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of separation records, approvals, settlements, exit documentation, and final payments.
• Assess compliance with labor laws, collective agreements, and employment contracts.
• Identify compliance gaps, evaluate exposure to legal claims, and develop a risk register.
• Collaborate with Legal, Payroll, Finance, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to validate findings.
• Prepare audit reports, present findings to senior HR leadership, and propose remediation plans with timelines and ownership.
• Update separation processes, templates, checklists, and governance controls.
• Support training for HR teams and managers on compliance obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• Significant experience in HR compliance, audit, or risk management, preferably with large employee populations.
• Strong understanding of labor legislation, collective agreements, and HR documentation standards.
• Proven ability to analyze complex cases, develop risk assessments, and drive corrective actions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
