Hub Coordinator – Ebola Response (6 months)

About the role

The Hub Coordinator will provide strategic leadership, programme management and technical coordination for UNICEF’s operations in the Butembo Hub, supporting Ebola preparedness and response across the Democratic Republic of Congo. This six‑month fixed‑term assignment focuses on safeguarding children and vulnerable communities during the ongoing outbreak.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the field office, ensuring effective day‑to‑day operations.
• Coordinate Ebola preparedness and response activities, aligning UNICEF interventions with national authorities.
• Integrate and oversee multi‑sectoral programmes, ensuring coherence and impact.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Monitor programme performance, produce reports and manage knowledge sharing.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks while ensuring accountability mechanisms are in place.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in social sciences, international relations, public administration, public policy, sociology, community development or a related field.
• Minimum eight (8) years of professional experience in programme management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, preferably in humanitarian or health emergencies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams in complex, insecure environments.
