Human Resources Specialist – Kinshasa

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will work full‑time on site at United Friends’ College in Kinshasa. The role supports daily HR operations, from recruitment and onboarding to employee record keeping and lifecycle management, ensuring smooth and compliant HR processes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities, conduct interviews and manage onboarding of new staff.
• Maintain accurate personnel records and oversee employee lifecycle processes.
• Develop, implement and update HR policies and procedures.
• Administer employee benefits and support performance‑management initiatives.
• Provide advice to managers and staff on HR matters and handle employee‑relations issues.
• Ensure compliance with Democratic Republic of the Congo labour legislation and institutional standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to promote an inclusive and positive work culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR and personnel management supporting daily operations.
• Knowledge of HR policies and ability to develop and update procedures.
• Experience administering employee benefits.
• Strong understanding of local labour regulations in the DRC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French; additional local languages are a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Organizational and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; HR certifications are advantageous.
