IT Officer – Infrastructure & Support

About the role

The Information Technology Officer will manage, maintain, and improve VillageReach’s IT infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role provides technical support to internal users, ensures system availability and security, and supports both national and provincial offices, including remote sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑level support for hardware, software, networks, and collaboration tools, diagnosing and resolving incidents promptly.
• Design, install, administer, and optimise LAN, wireless networks and internet connections, monitoring performance and minimizing disruptions.
• Implement and maintain security measures, manage user accounts and permissions in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, and conduct regular access audits.
• Perform regular data backups, support disaster recovery testing, and ensure data integrity.
• Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets using Asset Panda, conduct inventories, and coordinate equipment distribution to provincial offices.
• Deploy and maintain surveillance systems, Starlink kits, and other technology infrastructure in rural locations.
• Support procurement by developing technical specifications, evaluating vendor proposals, and monitoring contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• At least three years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, network administration, and information security.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with global and local teams.
