Logistics Associate (6‑month TA) – Kinshasa, Bunia, Beni, Butembo

About the role

UNICEF is recruiting four Logistics Associates on a six‑month temporary assignment to support the Ebola emergency response in Kinshasa, Bunia, Beni and Butembo, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role ensures the efficient movement, storage and last‑mile delivery of critical supplies, including infection‑prevention commodities, to vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate in‑country logistics operations, including transport planning and customs clearance.
• Manage warehousing, inventory control and distribution of programme supplies.
• Support emergency preparedness activities and rapid response logistics.
• Facilitate partnership coordination, reporting and data sharing with government and humanitarian partners.
• Supervise and mentor lower‑level logistics staff as required.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education; logistics, supply‑chain or related training highly desirable.
• Minimum six years of relevant administrative or logistics experience, preferably in humanitarian or health emergencies.
• Ability to work independently in insecure and rapidly changing environments.
• Strong cultural sensitivity and adaptability to community contexts.
