Medical Coordinator

About the role

The Medical Coordinator works closely with the Head of Mission to manage MAGNA’s medical programmes in the field. Reporting to the Program Manager and Head of Mission, the role ensures that all health interventions are relevant, high‑quality and aligned with project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise medical project coordinators and collaborate with logistics, financial and HR coordinators.
• Design and implement data‑collection tools, select medical indicators, and analyse health data to inform programme adjustments.
• Prepare analytical reports, budget proposals and recommendations for medical interventions.
• Organise the delivery of medical activities, oversee the use and maintenance of diagnostic, clinical and therapeutic equipment, and manage pharmacy consumption.
• Lead recruitment, team composition and training of medical staff; validate skill profiles and make final hiring decisions.
• Support project coordinators in managing healthcare teams and keep medical policies up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months experience in humanitarian aid, medical or paramedical roles.
• Background in public health, epidemiology, tropical medicine or disaster medicine, including work on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis or refugee health.
• English proficiency; knowledge of the mission language is required.
• Availability for at least a six‑month assignment.

Required skills

• Experience managing relationships with national authorities, NGOs and UN agencies.
• Ability to represent the organisation to external partners.
• Capacity to coordinate medical emergency responses.
• Strong negotiation, advocacy awareness and initiative‑taking.
• Comfort working in multicultural teams and prioritising workload.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract with a monthly salary ranging from €2,553 to €2,809, dependent on experience and role.
