Mineral Resources Manager – Production (Underground)

About the role

The Mineral Resources Manager – Production leads the underground geology function at the Kamoa Copper Mine, ensuring safe, sustainable and profitable extraction of copper resources. This senior position integrates geological modelling, grade control, resource definition and hydrogeology to support mine planning and production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead underground mine geology, grade control, resource definition drilling and hydrogeological investigations.
• Maintain and continuously improve the orebody model through mapping, drilling interpretation and structural analysis.
• Perform mine‑to‑mill reconciliation, statistical analysis and dilution/ore‑loss minimisation.
• Integrate groundwater inflow risk assessments into mine planning and operational decisions.
• Coordinate with Mineral Resources, Mine Planning, Production, Processing and Operations teams to ensure alignment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences or related field.
• 10–15 years of underground mining geology experience, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven experience in large‑scale underground operations with significant groundwater inflows.
• Strong understanding of structurally complex orebodies and geological risk management.
• Fluent business English; French and Swahili are advantageous.

• Geological modelling and mine‑planning software such as Leapfrog, Datamine, Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac and acQuire.
• Database management, QA/QC procedures and statistical analysis.
• Hydrogeological interpretation and groundwater management.
