Multimedia Communication Officer – Ebola Response (6‑month contract)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Multimedia Communication Officer to support the Ebola response in Bunia, Ituri province. The role focuses on producing high‑quality multimedia content that raises public awareness, counters misinformation, and promotes life‑saving behaviours among vulnerable children and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate multimedia materials (videos, graphics, audio) for risk communication and community engagement.
• Coordinate with media outlets and partners to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
• Produce real‑time content for social media, press releases, and internal briefings.
• Support advocacy efforts by creating compelling visual stories that highlight the impact of UNICEF’s interventions.
• Maintain a repository of approved communication assets and ensure consistency with UNICEF branding.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communication within humanitarian or public‑health emergencies.
• Strong ability to adapt messages to culturally diverse audiences under security‑sensitive conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with government, NGOs, and community leaders.
