Project Management Office (PMO) Manager

About the role

The Project Management Office (PMO) Manager will lead the establishment and operation of PMO functions for Mutanda Mining’s capital project portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the role provides strategic oversight, governance, and executive reporting to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement project control systems, governance frameworks, and standardized methodologies across all capital projects.
• Deliver executive‑level portfolio reporting, performance analysis, and risk management insights.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary Project Controls team, fostering continuous improvement.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and Earned Value Management for large‑scale mining projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and finance stakeholders to align project execution with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Process) or Project Management.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Project Controls or PMO roles within mining, EPCM, or large industrial environments.
• Proven track record of developing and applying governance frameworks and project control systems.
• Experience managing both open‑pit and underground mining capital projects is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with Power BI for reporting and analytics.
• Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and project financial modelling.
