Project Officer – Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

About the role

International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Officer to lead the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) component of a five‑year initiative in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role is based in Kalemie and will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the MHPSS Program Coordinator. IOM, established in 1951, is the leading UN agency on migration, promoting humane and orderly migration, saving lives, and providing assistance to people on the move. Key responsibilities

• Overall management, oversight and coordination of the five‑year “Improving the living conditions of population groups in security‑critical contexts in DRC” MHPSS initiative.
• Implementation of the programme in Tanganyika province, in partnership with the Head of Sub‑Office.
• Regular reporting to the Chief of Mission and the MHPSS Program Coordinator.

Required profile

• Open to first‑ and second‑tier candidates, with particular encouragement for qualified female applicants.
• Willingness to work in a humanitarian context in the DRC.
