Project Support Manager

About the role

The Project Support Manager ensures the efficient operation of Medair’s field base in Goma, D.R. Congo. This role coordinates administration, finance, human resources, logistics and security functions, and steps in for the Project Coordinator when required.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise base operations, including staff management, maintenance, and liaison with landlords, contractors and suppliers.
• Oversee all financial activities: cash management, weekly closings, monthly reports, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls and donor guidelines.
• Manage the base budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure spending aligns with donor requirements and timelines.
• Direct human‑resource processes such as recruitment, induction, training, appraisals, disciplinary actions and compliance with national and international employment laws.
• Provide logistical support, including supply‑chain management, vehicle and asset oversight, IT equipment maintenance and staff training.
• Maintain procurement, storage and transportation procedures, and ensure regular IT backups and virus updates.
• Collaborate on budget preparation for support and shared costs, and track quarterly pipeline analyses.
• Represent Medair at external coordination and security meetings in the absence of the Project Coordinator.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating administration, finance, HR, logistics and security functions in a humanitarian or development setting.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and internal financial controls.
• Knowledge of national employment legislation and statutory obligations.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a field environment.
