About the role

The position supports Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo during the ongoing Ebola outbreak. It focuses on providing mental health and psychosocial assistance to patients, survivors, grieving families, and health staff working under high‑stress, traumatic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mental health and psychosocial support to affected individuals and health personnel in Ebola‑affected zones.
• Contribute to surveillance, prevention and case‑management activities as part of the broader epidemic response.
• Strengthen local capacities for mental health response in insecure and hard‑to‑reach settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care for patients and staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mental health activities within humanitarian or emergency contexts.
• Ability to work in insecure environments and adapt to rapidly changing field conditions.
• Experience supporting populations exposed to high levels of stress and trauma.
