Risk Officer – Risk Management & Compliance (CST Level II)

About the role

The Risk Officer will provide expert advice and support to embed risk management and compliance across WFP’s operations in Kinshasa. The role focuses on developing risk assessment processes, monitoring risk indicators, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor key risk appetite metrics, update risk registers and track mitigation actions.
• Coordinate risk assessments in regional, country and field offices, identify emerging risks and design mitigation measures.
• Analyse risk performance data, prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to risk‑related guidance material.
• Review and advise on risk management activities within Country Strategic Plans and budget revisions.
• Deliver training and capacity‑building sessions on risk management, compliance and anti‑fraud policies.
• Support internal and external audit processes, including document collection, briefing coordination and follow‑up on recommendations.
• Promote the anti‑fraud and anti‑corruption policy, assist managers with fraud risk assessments and fact‑finding reviews.

Required profile

• Hands‑on knowledge of governance, organisational structures and major initiatives in international organisations.
• Proven experience in programme/project management, including team recruitment, performance management and capacity building.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct risk analysis, develop mitigation strategies and assess internal controls.
• Strong analytical, evaluative and problem‑solving skills with excellent written and oral English communication.
• Experience preparing reports for senior management and governing bodies.
